Podcast # 4 – The Whole Leaf, Ocean Beach, California

This is Ear to the Ground Productions, Podcast # 4.This podcast was recorded in The Whole Leaf teahouse in Ocean Beach in the San Diego area of Southern California, August 2007. The podcast is being broadcast from Curly Redwood Lodge in Crescent City, Northern California. We are staying here in a motel lodge that was made out of one single redwood tree – yes, those Redwood trees are awesome! Even when you lean back your neck you can hardly see the tree tops way up there in the sky.
Ear to the Ground Productions are Ross LewAllen and Hanne Moeller. We want to thank you all for your comments on our blog, it is so nice to hear from you.
The Whole Leaf in Ocean Beach is a meeting place for a new generation of tea drinkers. Ross and I have gone to this small and friendly teahouse several times. Sitting in the circle around the tea table we have enjoyed rare teas and conversations about everything from tea pouring to life transitions. The Whole Leaf has limited space, but there is always room for one more. In this podcast you can meet three of the young people from the Whole Leaf – Alexandra, Barkeley and Rachel.

Podcast # 3 from Arizona Equine Rescue Center, August 2007

Hej there, you are listening to Ear to the Ground Productions, Pod cast # 3. This third pod cast was recorded in Arizona Equine Rescue Center, August 2007. The podcast is being broadcast from sailing vessel Friendship, our 30-foot Catalina in Shelter Island Marina, San Diego, California - our radio station in Paradise.
Ear to the Ground Productions are Ross LewAllen and Hanne Moeller. A couple of days ago we visited our friends Carol and Soleil at their horse rescue center in New River in the Phoenix area. We spent a wonderful time there, including – of course – doing a tea ceremony together. It was delightful seeing our good friends again, their 4 dogs, 2 cats and 8 horses. We had a delicious dinner “just down the road” like Soleil said. It turned out to be 30 minutes of driving; nothing is just around the corner out there. But that gave us a chance to enjoy two more things: Carol driving her red 400 horsepower BMW like a race car while we were looking at the Arizona sunset, truly an explosion of colors over the mountains.
I did this recording with Soleil in the corral because I thought you might enjoy meeting a true horse whisperer who changed her life to devote it to rescuing horses. You will also meet a horse that wants to say hello to you through the microphone, so stay tuned, here are Soleil and Cheers.

Podcast # 2, Seven Cups teahouse, Tucson AZ August 2007

Filed under: Podcast — hanne @ 9:28 pm

Hej everybody, you are listening to Ear to the Ground Productions, Pod cast # 2. This second pod cast was recorded in the beautiful Seven Cups teahouse in Tucson, Arizona, August 2007. The podcast is being broadcast from sailing vessel Friendship, our 30 foot Catalina in Shelter Island Marina, San Diego, California. It is Paradise weather, sunny and warm with a mild ocean breeze. Couldn’t be better. This is the perfect place for having your own radio station.
Ear to the Ground Productions are Ross LewAllen and Hanne Moeller. We are visiting Chinese teahouses on our road trip, and Seven Cups in Tucson is one of the pioneers in the US. It was hot outside when we were there, 116 degrees Fahrenheit which is almost 47 degrees Celsius, but I can tell you it is true that hot tea actually cools and cleanses your body even in that kind of heat. In the recording you will meet owner Austin Hodge and his wife Zhuping who served us one of their rare teas - and it also turned out that they had a surprise for us.
